Where, where do we stand?

I posted about AI in music earlier this week, and in a timely fashion, Spotify released a blog post, Introducing “Verified by Spotify”. So no longer dear reader will you need to guess whether an artist is real or manufactured!

Sorry, I couldn’t help myself.

Back to it, I will no longer have the pleasure of listening to half of an album before realising…hey…wait a minute…this isn’t a robot, it’s “insert boring artist here” ok I will now stop.

It can be only a good thing. It’s hard enough to make it as a musician without AI churning out constant slop. Although, I’m hoping for AI charts and AI only playlists, if only to build a recurring blog theme around it. I could listen to the latest AI hits and write shit about it without any repercussions. The Robot uprising is set to start around May 14th 3000, so unless I cryogenically freeze myself, I should be good.

Whilst I’m in the AI mood, I asked my mate ChatGPT what their favourite music artist was (you must be specific) and I got the following:

ChatGPT giving me the music low down

No AI artists yet. My ChatGPT instance is slowly adapting to my personality so it may never get there.

And I’m a musical magpie, collecting random bangers, thanks for asking. Off to continue the conversation with ChatGPT (I may rename to make it easier to type).

Peace out xoxo
